Daughters of the Nile is a benevolent international fraternal organization for women who are related by birth or marriage to Shriners. It boasts 150 constituted Temples throughout the United States and Canada with over 54,000 members. We are most grateful to the Nobles of the Mystic Shrine for their allowing us to assist with the patients at the 22 Shrine Hospitals for Children in North America, Hawaii, and Mexico. Each year, through our Supreme Temple Convalescent Endowment Fund and Convalescent Relief Fund, Daughters of the Nile contribute well over a million and a half dollars to the hospital for prostheses, orthotics, braces, shoes, etc. for the children. In addition, many Temples sew garments, quilts, provide toys, and hold parties for the children as well as log many volunteer hours in the hospitals. In reality, over two million dollars is contributed to the hospitals by Daughters of the Nile each year. Our pride and strength is achieved by having enthusiastic and hard-working members. Membership is gained by being proposed for the same, and we welcome questions and interest in our organization. We join hands with all who cares about the future - our children. Zohar Temple #65 meets the first Monday of each month, unless on a holiday, then sessions are held in July or August. Our location is Bestor G. Brown Lodge, 812 S. Oliver, Wichita, KS 67218. Zohar Patrol meets the fourth Thursday of each month, 7:30pm, at Bestor G. Brown Lodge. Sewing is held on the third Monday evening of session months, always check with the Queen or Sewing Chairman if unsure of sewing times, the schedule can vary.
